A sliding-scale therapy program

Grief this tender deserves care you can actually reach.

Fifty-minute therapy sessions, offered on a sliding scale, with clinicians who understand perinatal loss, birth trauma, and the long road that follows. Your cost should never be the reason you go without support.

"Belonging is not a privilege but a birthright, and zip code no longer determines destiny."

Why this exists

Embrace Foundation was built to hold families through perinatal loss, birth trauma, and the unexpected death of an infant — offering a safe space to grieve, heal, and honor a life that mattered.

Perinatal loss therapy is part of that holding. But the families who need it most are often the ones for whom market-rate care is out of reach. This program closes that gap: professional, trauma-informed therapy at a rate you set with us, so cost is never the thing standing between you and being witnessed.

How it works

Four unhurried steps

No paperwork maze, no pressure. You move at the pace that grief allows.

Reach out

Start with a free 15-minute call with either clinician to see whether the fit feels right. No commitment.

Set your fee

Together we choose a sliding-scale rate you can sustain — based on what's realistic for your household, not a means test.

Meet for 50 minutes

Sessions are held securely by telehealth, so you can be somewhere you feel safe — including home.

Continue at your pace

Weekly, every other week, or as you need. There's no clock on healing, and no wrong way to use this space.

The sliding scale

One rate does not fit every family

Every 50-minute session is the same care. What changes is what you pay — chosen in conversation, in good faith, with dignity on both sides.

Supported

$40 / session

For families for whom any standard fee would mean going without. Reserved, limited spots.

Sustaining

$65 / session

A middle rate for those who can contribute meaningfully while still needing relief from full-market cost.

Community

$90 / session

Closest to sustainable cost. Choosing this, when you're able, quietly keeps a supported spot open for someone else.

Sessions are private-pay and not billed to insurance; on request, clinicians can provide a superbill you may submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. No one is turned away for a good-faith conversation about cost.

Trauma, Grief & Life Transitions

Christen Rinaldi, a licensed mental health counselor and Disaster Mental Health specialist, has spent her career walking alongside individuals and families through loss, trauma, and the disorientation that follows abrupt and unexpected life-changing events. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed, grief-literate care — meeting people exactly where they are, without a timeline or a script for how healing should look. She believes grief deserves to be witnessed, not managed, and she brings that same steadiness to every person she supports.

Who this is for

If cost is what's holding you back, this is for you

You don't need to prove your grief or itemize your finances. This program exists for people who are carrying something heavy and can't carry full-fee care on top of it.

  • Families navigating miscarriage, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons, or the death of an infant.
  • Parents living through birth trauma, a NICU stay, or pregnancy after a loss.
  • Anyone who is uninsured, underinsured, or simply can't sustain market-rate therapy right now.
  • Partners and family members grieving alongside — grief is rarely carried alone.
